Sign up with Icelandair for their e-mail letter as they often have special offers and try going direct to the airlines to see what their prices are. On some occasions I've found that booking with an affiliate of an airline will give a cheaper price than the airline that actually flies the route. Also try the American versions of websites to see if the USD exchange rate gives you an advantage0

Hi
Try https://www.flybmi.com - they have a direct Manchester - Washington DC service and a connecting Manchester - Glasgow service!0 -
You don't say what you have been quoted but I have tried AER LINGUS and a flight from Dublin to Washington comes out at £430 return inc taxes (1 change). Using SKYSCANNER there are flights between Prestwick and Dublin for about £20 o/w.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0

Thank for all you help.
Have booked flight Glasgow to Washington with United Airlines via LHR £344.00 inc tax.
Also got really good travel insurance for £17.40 at Moneysupermarket.co.uk.
So looking forward to having more spending money now.
