Buying from Goods from China on c/card. Am I Protected?

Hi
I am going to import a CNC machine from China.
The cost is about £2400 including shipping (by boat)
My question is. If i pay on my credit card will i be covered by the "section 75" rule?
As far as i can work out from reading this link... http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases I would normally be covered but as i am using the Escrow service from Alibaba i 'may' not be covered as the Escrow service act as a third party.
The shipping is supposedly insured, but i just want to cover all eventualities in case it goes missing, gets damaged, or turns out to be a load of rubbish.
So if my credit card does not cover this purchase, what else can use? I am buying the machine for hobby use, and cant afford to loose this amount of money.
The only payment options are Escrow or bank transfer.
They wont take paypal, even if i cover the costs.
Many thanks.

You need to confirm whether this is a personal or business transaction.0

No section 75 wont cover you if its personal purchase.... 3rd party money movement and No debtor/creditor link.
What about import duties?
How did you find this retailer and product?
Now take a long hard look and wonder why they will only take bank transfer or Escrow....
Both menas of payment have no comeback.
Now I would take a long walk of a short plank off that boat and look elsewhere. Before parting with that kind of money, for something in China.
Or if you really want to continue. At least do a google on the company and see if any reviews come up.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

I am aware of the import duties and the cost.
I know of other people who have bought from this seller and are happy.
I have bought loads of stuff from China with no real problems before, just nothing on this scale.
I just find it strange they wont take a paypal payment and frustrated section 75 rule does not apply through a 3rd party payment handler.0 -

Nothing wrong with buying from china they tend not to use paypal for obvious reasons being the service rates with international buyers/sellers and also many banks in china don't have the facilities for paypal.0
