Thank you Sirdan for your reply. further to my research I have found the following:
The name of the person who sent the email is Nigel E.J.Barrington-Fuller (LLB) and this is what I have found from a different forum discussion :
There certainly is a Mr Nigel Edward James Barrington-Fuller with a date of birth of 29/1/1960 who has been the director of several companies. Most of these companies are now dissolved but the only extant one is ENDEAVOUR VEHICLE IMPORTS LTD. Well, sort of extant. It seems there is a proposal to strike it off of the Companies Register.0 -

Well since he has a law degree (LLB) he ought to be able to tell you what SPECIFIC legislation gives his company acting for Luton Airport lawful authority to tow.
In my opinion the fact that this "legally qualified" person has dodged the issue of the specific legislation only goes to strenghthen your case .
Surely if the legislation was in place he would have quoted it ..so far all he has quoted is contract law (irrelevant) and the Prescribed Sum regulations ..also irrelevant.
Don't be intimidated by that LLB after his name ...!
Courts take a dim view of those who do not make genuine efforts to settle the dispute without the need for proceedings ,so he better have a very very very good reason for not supplying you with the specific legislation on which he is relying !0 -
Luton Airport Byelaws can be found here
http://www.london-luton.co.uk/en/content/8/244/byelaws.html
While they do make it an offence to park for longer than the posted waiting times etc (Byelaw 3.6), as far as I can see they have nothing to say about clamping or towing. Therefore if there is lawful authority for towing at the airport, it doesn't come from the byelaws.0 -

Exactly and I suspect they know it !
Seems that Mr Barrington -Fuller was behind the infamous NCP towing on pepipoo..still ongoing ..but as I recall the OP did win a temporary injunction allowing the return of his vehicle !
So maybe BF's law is a bit rusty !0 -
Mr Barrington-Fuller has indeed qualified as a barister in 1980 however he never heald a practicing certificate
Do you have the reg number of the vehicle that towed your car ?
Maybe VOSA would be interseted in a call0 -

IS there no reg number of SIA license number on the receipt ?0

No, there is none. he did claim on his reply that he did not need the licence any longer. "You make reference to our qualifications. Indeed we were authorised by the Security Industry Authority. This is no longer required"
I have sent him an email yesterday asking the specific legislation that eneables him to do such act as it is not mentioned by the Luton airport byelaws. I have not had a reply as yet, I would frankly doubt I will have any..0 -
Ask him if he has a valid VOSA operators licence ?
if so what is the License number0
