Hi all,
I am now on a periodic tenancy, and just had my six month inspection. During the inspection, the LA strongly hinted that i would need to repaint the whole flat - i never redecorated it - because there are a few scuffs on the wall in the hallway.
Also, the tenancy agreement states that i need to have all curtains dry cleaned and the carpets professionally cleaned, but i dont think the last tenant did this - can i ask for reciepits to prove that the last tenant had them cleaned?
There is also a mark on the carpet from the last tenant, and i admit that i have got hair dye on the carpet, can ask the LA what was deducted from the last tenants deposit,if anything? the stain is nearly out but still noticeable
Thanks in advance!

It's worth running an advanced search, all these issues have come up many times. If you caused them, scuffs are dirt/ damage and you will need to remove them - sugar soap works like nothing else - or paint over to a high standard. If you did not cause the scuffs you do not need to repaint or pay for the landlord to.
You need to leave carpets and curtains as clean as when you arrived, they can't force a professional clean on you. Since you have marked the carpet it would make sense to shampoo the full carpet. Is the condition of the walls, carpets and curtains detailed in the inventory? Why did you sign the AST if you were not happy with it? What was deducted from the last tenants deposit is none of your business.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Try this (removing hair dye from carpet) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ2shBwdM9w&feature=related
Alternatively.., remember that google is your friend as it is mine lol.
I would imagine it would work on carpet as well but damp up with a cloth rather than mop. Try on a small bit of hidden carpet first, then try on the stain.
Depending on the state of the carpets when u moved in .., and if an inventory states the carpets were clean / unstained without modification by yourself.., you probably are best off also hiring a carpet cleaner from a DIY store like B&Q and Wickes and cleaning the carpets yourself. Its a lot cheaper than having to pay your landlord to hire a company in to do them.0
