Car insurance advise please! 2 thefts in last 3 years

Hello
I would appreciate any advise on this..
My husband has just passed his full driving test and so I have called my insurer Sheila's Wheels to add him to the policy.
My husband has been using motorbikes for years and due to them being easyish to pick up, put on a truck and drive off with has had 2 stolen in the last 3 years. Because of this Sheila's Wheels will not insure him. Therefore I need to
a) cancel my policy (they have advised this will cost me ~ £75
b) insure him elsewhere
It doesn't seem entirely fair that they should charge me such a high cancellation fee when I HAVE to leave them due to them not being able to meet our needs. Is there anything I can do to dispute this?
Does anyone know if I'm likely to be able to get a policy elsewhere to cover my partner as a second driver, or are these thefts likely to rule us out of most policies?
Thanks for any help with this!

You bought a year long policy, they are happy to honour that agreement for the remainder of the year. You dont HAVE to add your husband to the policy, it is your choice to do so as it is also their choice if they are willing to accept or not and if so then at what price as it would then become your choice on if you accept that new price or not.
Go to an aggregator like confused.com and do a dummy quote with him on the policy. There absolutely will be insurers that accept him but there will be a heavy loading for having two fault claims in the last 3 years (theft counts as fault). That will at least give you an idea of the premiums involved.
You then have to decide if you want to cancel, pay the fee and move on to the new insurer or if the prices are too high finish the year and look again next year with him or without him and reassess then0 -
Any sensible underwriter will hopefully consider these irrelevant but with most companies these days you will only get to speak to a call centre who won't see anything other than 2 claims.
I think you need to speak to a local broker.0
