Scottish Power Credit

I'm currently in credit for £361 and pay £94 a month direct debit. I called today to move onto their new package fixed until 2014 and got told my direct debit would be the same. When I asked to get some of my credit back I got told my monthly payments would go up to £114 a month. I have never been in debt with them and my gas only went in this year. How can they do this with my money

Do what exactly with your money?
They've offered to pay you the money back or offered to keep the DD the same. Up to you.0 -
If I get my money back which they have in credit they will upy direct debit payments but my credit will just keep building0

Captain, it is ok mine did the same a few months ago.
The £94 a month will be taking your credit into account. They will be using a small amount of your credit each month as well to bring it down.
When you asked for the credit back, your £94 DD will go up to the correct estimate for the coming year. In your case £114 a month.
I hope I have made myself clear, if not pm me and I will try again.
If you are an online customer like me you will need to watch the first new £114 out as it may not cover the bill till things get going and you have a few pounds credit.
Trying to explain... my cheque arrived which made my account nil. with 3 weeks of fuel use before The new DD came out to cover the following month. Those 3 weeks to keep my account up to date I paid by card online.
Take care....The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
