my friend and her husband and 4 children have been on sickness benefit (old style him as dependant,children incl. ie NOT CTC.) for approx 6 yrs.
DLA has been turned down and appeal lost.(She is not degenerate enough yet).
He has now just got a jobstarted tuesday (children all old enough tonot need him as much) but the problem is they are entitled to no £ for Housing Benefit(his name),sickness(her name) from now on.He doesnt get paid for 5 weeks.
How can they manage?
They have claimed CTC and WFTC but been told up to 4 weeks to sort out.
The jobcentre werent very helpful but eventually referred them to the local back to work charity who tried very hard but still came up with the same answers eg no £ to help transition.
now she has had another letter from HB saying she WILL get HB and forms for when he gets paid as she should get some HB then too
Has anyone any suggestions please?
