Thanks :) I needed to do something to help differentiate us two and didn't want people thinking I was an alter ego. I tend to post mainly at night time so that also might help people tell us apart but if it gets too confusing, I'll ask the mods if they can change my name as your tweets is more established on this thread than I am.

Just realised I've been rude and never said thanks to snap-ant for the new thread, good morning to everyone and hugs to those who need them. :o

I'm clearly not a morning person!

    To me you're . . . Big Tweets

  • Thanks snap ant!

Had boys halloween party this evening. From past experience, 50 out of the 80 children were expected to turn up. Actually 72 came so all hard work of newly formed parents seems worth it.

I donated the juice from asda glitch! And sweets for party bags, flumps, white mice, giant buttons and tangtastics!!! Tea and coffee for parents, glitched a while ago. Only trouble was, i only did 60 so a few cildren got in a strop, now ive got to take extra into school tomorrow. Lesson learnt!

There are 15 parents who turned up to our first 2 meetings, only 5 inc myself, turned up to decorate the hall which was ashame. (i gave each of them a colourful set of lenor)!! a few more stayed to help tidy but i did have to bite my tongue. They have done nothing nor supplied anything and were being a bit rude re the lack of party bags etc.

Anyway, moan over. Rising above it! Got a christmas party to plan now.

the school my dd2 goes to shes 4 has only me and my friend on pta and before that it was just one of the helpers there was a letter sent out in september when my daughter started full time for parents to join the PTA AND ON THE AFTERNOON of the meeting only me and a friend turn up it was awfull (as in the yard everyday parents moan about the school but dont come to try change things)

the kids halloween disco was just me and my friend we had to go get hall ready local farm food donated drinks and crisp for kiddies (life saver) raffel prizes the local co-op gave good prizes wine choclates posh crisps and few other bussiness gave but lots didnt (times are hard i know)
i sent letters out to parents asking for donations for food ,drinks, pay for dj got only £5 the school has about 300 pupils in the infant department (thats the part of the school i do pta for as junior is a separate building on same street ) has no pta

i felt like crying aswell when me my friend and the head teacher were left to tidy up after the dj made an anouncment to ask all parents to tidy up before leaving

(if every parent had picked up one,two things it would have been done in no time instead of taking nearly an hour )

and im dreading organisng the xmas trip and disco normaly Cinerama and lunch somewhere the helper told me so im going to organise that after half term with friend

what you doing for xmas for the schoolkidies?

    Well done couponqueen123! :T

Sounds like a lovely event, I wish I was that organised!! Still, have a year or so to go yet, DD starts nursery next year and although I'll miss the time I spend with her, am excited about all of the new friends she will make and the fun parties we can throw! :j

Maybe next time have a clean up comp? A prize for the student who collects the most trash in their bag? Get the dj to play the last song as a song they like and they have til the end of the song to collect as much rubbish as possible? With parental supervision of course :D

  • Got this e-mail last night, a bit of info for those asking about the campaign yesterday...

BEAR WITH US FOR A FEW MORE DAYS

    GREETINGS BZZAGENT,

We have all been there. You’re off to catch some winter sun, the bags are packed, the sun tan lotion and new books are at the ready, and the excitement is too much to bear. And then you forget your passport.

Well this is a bit like that. Clubcard Challenge is ready to go, but we need to do a last minute dash round the Bzz Hive to check everything is ready before we set off. We don’t want to forget anything!

We will be sending you an email early next week with the link that will take you to the Clubcard Challenge Facebook app. And then we can all relax, sip on some creamy cocktails (or beverage of your choice) and let the fun begin.

As ever, thank you so much for holding on. Go Team BzzAgent!

Can't believe some of the above - when I worked I couldn't help with PTA but always helped tidy up after the events and donate prizes etc.

Our PTA sells tickets to events with a cut off date - so it is clear who is coming and who isn't (22 extra bags and food is a tall order)! Minimum charge but clear re numbers and cut off point - they are usually flexible re late requests - but then these are usually in manageable numbers. Its made clear that this is so they can get the right amount of food, selection boxes (if Xmas etc).

There is now a parent class rep for each class - and each class's parents are doing an event (my DD class doing the Xmas disco - meeting to plan after half term - DJ already booked, DS class just done Bingo night - with hampers donated by us for prizes). Class rep co-ordinates other parents in class. But no one person doing it all....

Wonder if you could ask for more volunteers or Xmas trip cancelled? Certainly class parents repsonsible for an event pulls people together - tho there are always some ........

Hope you get it sorted - really feel for you.

    Good Morning All ,
Low cloud day and with the window open the weather gives the impression of damp chill .

In honour of Mr 3 Dogs I will at every available opportunity try to replicate his heroic camo campaign of bumps and collisions .
    Made me right giggle .
