    Years ago I was teaching in the inner city. I'd put some sandwiches in the class rubbish bin as they'd expired the day before.
    Later I spotted one of the students taking it outr of the bin, unpacking it and eating it. I realised I'd never seen her buying anything or carrying food or drink to the lunch clubs we ran. There must be a lot more of this than people know. :(
