Wish you hadn't posted these links as I have now got a live webcam feed from NY and can't take my eyes off it - although the weather doesn't look any worse than an average November day at Land's End!
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

    What are you on about?

I just thanked the person that I quoted, and realised i'd done it by accident, and then saw the unthank button. Just thought i'd mention that.. incase there are others like me, who didn't know it was there.. and were going around thanking people accidentially and having to live with their mistakes coz they didn't know there was a thank button.

enjoy your dried milk with you lunch :) goldfish for desert is it? :A
You can't make someone love you. All you can do is
stalk them & hope they panic & give in

God created men first, cause you always makes a rough draft before a masterpiece!

Sorry was not wanting to upset anything. I do recall earlier discussions on the issue and I know it is a difficult issue for many. I don't get too involved, just try to help out when I can and was just helping with teas etc this morning. Everyone was happy to sit eat and drink but not too many serving. Anyway it went well overall.:)

    Dear Iamso happy.

I feel I am qualified to give you advice coz one of my sister in laws is a doctor.

Anyway, what you describe is a severe case of people pleasing.

When we do things just because it makes us happy to do things.. we never look at others who are not doing those things.

    However,

When we do things, just to get prize/praise/admiration/thanks from others, and that prize/praise/admiration/thanks is not forthcoming, we get bitter and angry and focus on that instead of the happiness we gained from doing the good deed in the first place.

    Moral?

Only do something that makes you happy inside. Don't do stuff that makes you look good in the eyes of others. Because people see right through it.

Actually, I ditched the dried milk. Guess what I found instead? A bottle of virgin olive oil. I mixed that in with the rice and it wasn't that bad. I'm going to get another one of these meals and then i'm going to bring my own salt into work tomorrow. Will let you know how it tastes tomorrow.

Goldfish for dessert? I can't think of anything less appetizing. What a bizarre question? Are you a comedian or something?

I always have stacks of salt. I use the 29p one as a filler in my APG shops if I'm short of items.

Do you know what Auntycaz? I am the same! I've got some salt as well at home that is stacking up.. from using it as a filler item. You can never have enough salt - especially with the weather getting bad now.

BUT.. i'm at work. I'm temping and there is nothing in the cupboards.. but dried milk, sugar and coffee and tea. Oh, and a bottle of Virgin olive oil.
