I was on a fix rate with SP until April 2013 and if I changed or left there would be a penalty of £60. However, contacted them and they agreed to let me take another fix until March 2014 and they waived the penalties. Also the new fix comes with no penalties.

I though this was really great service.

So you were allowed to change without penalty after all?

However, are you sure you are not now paying more for your energy on this new fixed tariff compared to the original one?

Yes they allowed me to change without penalty and with the new deal I am free to leave them anytime as their are no cancellation fees attached.

Also the cost is about £90.00 a year more but bearing in mind my present fix rate finishes early 2013 and they have also saved me £60 in fees I am happy with the result.
