Carherd

Hi

I have been looking to find the cheapest way to buy a new Volkswagen up, and came across carherd.com

Has anyone used them and is it safe?

Thanks.

Driverthedeal will give you an instant quote via their web page. The "spam" site looks very amateurish, "fill in a form and we'll get back in touch" suggests they don't have links with dealers, they only call them when they get a lead.

That aside the Up is a brand new model already built to a price, if you can get 10% you are doing well.

I'd seen an article about carherd, wondered how it was. Thanks for the link though, will check them out. [STRIKE]How was your experience?[/STRIKE]

Edit: nvm, just googled HJ haha

Have a look at the dealers site for pre-registterred/ex-demonstrators. There seems to be a fair few floating about at the minute.

Make sure you try before you buy. I'm was hoping to like the Up! but found it to be a bit of a let down.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

  • Got the quotes back from both drivethedeal and carherd.

£50 off from drivethedeal while carherd's offer is 6% off, which is around £450ish. Thoughts/advice please?

Yeah right lol.. Will they put that in writing?

Or is it 6% off the list price?

When DriveTheDeal offer £50 off the current lowest dealer price?

If they put that into writing and dont ask for upfront payments and charges etc then go for it. And its the same spec not a base spec car, and not a pre-owned or pre-reg'd model.

  • lil update:

Went with the carherd deal. They said only one garage could do it - in Coventry - got the 6% off. Decent saving, had the car before christmas too.

I'm happy - the car gets 60+ mpg as well :)
