Another point regarding the printhead drying out is to make sure that you don,t leave the printer idle, but swithed on, for any considerable time.

As stated above, always switch off with the ssitch on the machine, not just at the wallswitch.

David thanks for your input, and a very good point you have made I'm afraid that I am guilty of that. My reasoning was, probaby wrong in thinking that every time I switched the printer on it runs through its startup programme and used ink.

    Epson SX415

This morning, very first thing I ran a cleaning programme using 'head cleaning cartridges ' that arrived yesterday and following the instructions...

... 'choosing A4 size image from the computer with as much colour as possible and set the printer to print the image at least 20 times, then leave the head cleaning cartridges in the printer for 12 hours....

After this period to remove the head cleaning cartridgesand replace with the normal ink cartridges immediately. I did this and the printer went through its 'charging' procedure as normal.

I have just attempted to print 'text' and now nothing is being printed, the printer went through its normal motions as normal when new cartridges are inserted, but no text is being printed.

Could air be trapped in the system or have I missed a procedure somewhere?

    Kind regards

Have you run a head clean since? Maybe head clean then a nozzle check, another head clean then a nozzle check, the ink should be through by then.

Santer many thanks for your input.

I have only run as much as I said in my previous post because I was not sure what to do next, I did not want to mess up, but your idea sound good I will try that later.

    Kind regards
