  • i was offered emergancy housing which was bed and breakfast or a shared house in an area that wasnt local to me as my son was only 5 and the son of a serviceman i was told had i of stayed with my husband that he would probably mopved schools anyway, I was on maternity leave with my part time job from the MoD and was told that as it is only 16hours that wasnt a reason to stay in the area, and would be better giving it up so they could pay me housing benefit!! As I didnt have family other than my childrens father in the area I had no family connection and again because they are children of service men there is no guarentees that their dad would of stayed in the area.

as it was what dont kill you makes you stronger and eventually i got a better job within the MoD I believe I have done the right thing by trying to support my family through working but I am now left with the aftermath of debt a lot come about through the guilt of my marraige failing and trying to give my children what they would of had if we were still a family and a lot is through having to move three times and the cost that goes with it.

Social housing would obviously be cheaper for me but would alos give me the warm feeling of not having to move ever agin.

    enough of my rambling!!

Are you on the housing list smoyo? If not, I'd recommend getting on it. You would get a property at some stage if you did.

  • I was on and somehwere along the three houses I have lived in dropped off it but back on again. You have to bid for them around here i would go on and there is so little 3 bed houses that 100's of people would be bidding for the same house. it is a little demoralising each week going on to see if there is anything.
