Colour Suggestions for Bathroom

Our bathroom is about 10ft x 10ft, south facing and currently the paint work is white.
There is a sink, bath, shower and wc - all white. The wall tiles alternate white/black - similar to a chess board. About half the wall is tiled. The floor tiles are black slate.
Its been a few years since we redecorated, but I need to bite the bullet and do it.
I would be grateful for any colour suggestions for the walls.

Great thing about black and white tiles is you can add pretty much any third colour you want to it. See inspiration below:

Personally I like blue paint in bathrooms. Any other bright colour would go with the tiles though. Or a light grey for a more muted look - you could get away with it in a south-facing room with warm light but for me it would be a bit too cold/masculine.0 -
Personally I love a white bathroom with just a hint of colour, usually in the accessories ie towels etc...so my gut suggestion would be white!...
Choosing the colours for your walls probably depends on how light you want the room to be....you could take the walls really quite dark by looking at some of the strong burgundy reds or even an aubergine type dark purple and that would give the room a totally different feel than the black white senario
You could play it a little more safer and probably introduce the aqua blues or greens which would add a lighter and maybe freasher feel than the darker colours...
Or you could experiment with a grey type colour....sounds depressing but there are some that are quite light and again allow natural light to bounce off ...
Grab a few colour charts and even a few tester pots...paint a small but bold section and live with it a few weeks and hopefully if you dont find the colour you like at least you will probably find out the ones you dont!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

White is safest if you intend to sell in the not too distant future, otherwise choose what you prefer. I like white floor and tiles, and a coloured wall, pale blue, pale yellow, that sort of thing. A coloured bath rug goes well on a white floor, and can be thrown out when you get bored of the colour. An advantage of white tiles, is that it makes it easy to change the wall colour, as most colours go with white.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
To dress up my bathroom I went with a light minty green, and a darker shade of minty green on one wall. Goes well with the silver mosaic lino and white suite. Its just a bit warmer in colour than blue.0
