I have been advised to buy a good memory card to get the best from camera - is this one suitable do you think, Sandisk 32GB Class 10 Ultra SDHC £15.24?

Yup. Class 10 is a good speed, so would be perfect for HD video and quick shots while at high pic quality settings, and is a big enough capacity that if she upgraded to a high end SLR itd still be suitable.0

When you get the card, make sure you test it before storing possibly valuable and important on it.

From my own daughters experience.... Buy multiple 4 or 8GB cards rather than one 32gb, they only take seconds to swap out and if you do have a card failure, you only loose whats on the card rather than everything you have taken.
My eldest DD is doing a photography course and she can easily do 60+GB of pics in a session - she lost a whole days worth of work when her 32GB card died when she first started - now she has nothing bigger than 8gb on her bag.0
