Hi all,
Hoping someone can help, my oven tripped out fuse box half way through cooking a roast on sunday!:( When I flicked the switch back on in fusebox oven came back on but would not heat up. Everything else worked, grill, clock fan but just wouldnt heat. Left it until Monday and took a look at element which was melted so removed it which was easy enough and sourced a new one. I fitted it today but when I came to switch everything on the whole oven was dead, no power to anything. I checked and checked again that I wasnt being dim and left the switch off etc. I eventually took whole unit out and took back panel off. I discovered one of the spade connectors had come off as I pushed it back through so connected it and tried again..still nothing. I didnt have time to investigate further as I had to go work but I did notice some slight burn marks on the insulation in back, should that concern me?
Anyway I am a little confused as all the power etc was working before I disconnected it. Anyone got any idea?
It is a Whirlpool single fan oven if that helps and is just under 5 years old.

Have you had a look at the fuse in the plug ?
The socket where the oven is plugged in, plug something else in there ......... a radio, just to see if you have power getting that far.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

good idea...why didn't I think of that today!
also I have not had look at plug yet...ran out of time! How can I tell if the fuse is gone on that?0 -
The plug should come apart, there should be a screw in it, or at least you may be able to lift the fuse out with a tiny screwdriver. If you haven't got a tester take the fuse from another plug that you know is working ..... the radio or iron.
