Hi I'm new here, was looking for advice on the below.
I have recently noticed a change in my tax code.
My circumstances haven't changed but i am now on 202T.
Does anyone know what that code stands for?
Thanks

normally you are entitled to earn £8105 tax free which correspeonds to a taxcode of 810L
a 202T code means you only get a tax free amount of 2025
you should have received a notification about the chance ...0 -
You should have received a new notice of coding from HMRC. Your new code must include a whopping deduction of some sort to reduce your net allowance to only £2029. The "T" suffix, by the way, is a means by which when allowances are increased by a budget uplift, so that tax codes with the suffix "L", for example, are increased by so many points, a code with a suffix "T" has to be reviewed manually by HMRC before any increase in the code is applied. This rather indicates that your code includes some non-standard quantity which requires manual review. If you can provide a breakdown of your notice of coding this will enable us to offer further advice. Regards.0
