JSA/Income support advice please

Hello all

I am after some advice for a friend please as shes having a few problems and to be honest i do not have the answers for her.

Right she was on job seekers allowance was paid
23rd aug £142
06th sep £142
24th sep £132.08 (she said she got less because of a deduction for loan)

Between the 06th sep and 24th sep payments she was signed off from job seekers allowance as made a claim for income support due to being pregnant. she said she was paid late due to them assessing her final payment amount due to going from one benefit to another. can find out her last job seekers signing date if needed.

Still with me im lost........

Income support received her claim form on 17th Sep and said it takes 14 working days to sort claim out from when the received it.

8th October she receives a payment from income support for £284.00 i said this works out to 4 weeks of income support payment £71x4= £284.00.

She then received a letter from jobcentre plus saying that she is entitled to income support. she will receive £71.00 a week payable fortnightly on a Monday from 18th September 2012.
(nothing was mentioned about the £284.00)

she has then had no money since so she phoned income support yesterday and asked when she is due a payment, and that she had had this payment of £284.00 on 8th September and the letter to say she was entitled to income support from 18th September, She was told that the payment of £284.00 was from 18th September until 15th October.

She was told that her next payment is due on the 29th October and will cover her from 16th October until 29th October.

My friend is working it out that she is eligible for income support from 18th September so.

18th September
25th September (2 weeks)

2nd October
9th October (2 weeks)

16th October
23rd October (2 weeks)
Income support saying she will be paid on the29th October
(1 day short of 3 weeks)

Im not going to pretend i know anything about this hence why i have posted here asking advice as the whole situation had pickled me. shes also saying to me if i get paid on the 29th October when will my next payment be due, how long will i go again??

Please someone help me so i can explain it to her

Many thanks to anyone that stuck it to the end of this post :0)

Her next payment (following the one on 29th October) will be 12th November, assuming she is paid fortnightly. I can't see what is so confusing. Benefits are paid fortnightly in arrears and by my calculations she's received every penny she was owed to date.

Thanks for your reply, well I was confused hence why I posted here, I think it was the nearly being 3 weeks before payment that was confusing her well and me but I do appreciate you taking the time to work it out and reply. I will let her know.

    many thanks again :)
