Successful claim taking ages to get back

Hi
My husband found out just over a month ago that he's successfully claimed back a rather nice largish sum of money on his missold PPI... however, we are in a largish amount of debt too, and I know that some of the PPI will be used to pay arrears on his credit card debt. He's only got a few months' worth of arrears, but it's still going to make a dent in the claim, but our main concern is that it's now been more than 28 days since we were told he'd get his money back and it's not been paid into his account. We're both worried that they could take so long to cough up that it will just vanish into credit card arrears. (Husband is making token repayments less than the monthly minimum as we had no disposable income at all for food, petrol etc after paying all bills.)
We were so thrilled to find out that we could get back a sum of money that could effectively be the end to our money troubles, but I now feel anxious again.
How long does it normally take to get money back and if they take longer than the 28 days they say it takes, where do we stand with regards the mounting arrears? BTW, it's Barclaycard we're dealing with.
Thanks:)

I suppose each case will be different, give them a ring tomorrow.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
BTW - my thread title is a tad misleading as it's not yet taken 'ages', just over a month, but we're desperate to get this money back adn I've heard that some people wait months and months...0
