Thanks for all the feedback. Will definitely do some investigating at JL an HoF. Wonder if they'll only have a reduced range though!0

you can get 5.05% cashback at house of fraser through topcashback
and you could use your student discount as well
wouldnt be 15% as the cashback is 10% of what you paid (your minus 10%) but still helps on that amount
she is a lucky girl
mines a mulberry roxanne!0 -
can't find any mullberry bags on the HoF website. :-?
Am I being stupid?0 -
My husband bought me a Mulberry bag for my birthday in February. It's this one:

I was shocked he spent so much but he did say that he got one of his work colleagues to get it at Stansted Airport duty free on her way to Ireland at Christmas and he saved about £200 in the process!
I didn't know you could get Mulberrys at duty free but might be worth an option if you or anyone else you know is flying out of the UK soon.Mortgage free wannabeMortgage (November 2010) £135,850Mortgage (November 2020) £4,7840 -
Maybe if you're not 100% certain you could give her an IOU - get a cute card and write in that you will buy her or at the very least contribute a lot towards the bag of her choosing and you'll take her to buy it after Christmas?
That way you definitely get the right one, and you get the fun of looking for it with her too

Well it's for her birthday which is in November, so waiting til after Xmas isn't going to be ideal.
Appreciate all the feedback. Looks like its gonna be full wack as nothing available on HoF and no discount for JL, Selfridges, Harvey Nics etc etc0 -
OK if you're going to go through with it for sure, then I'd go the route of getting her a card and a token gift and taking her out shopping so that she can choose a bag. If I thought someone was going to spend the best part of a grand on a bag without consulting me I'd feel a bit uncomfortable!
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -

Lucky girl .... Try haggling in the store, say you are a student and ask if they will give you the standard student discount of 15%. You never know. Also make sure they have a gift return policy just in case she doesn't like it0 -
York outlet gives 10% student discount if that is any closer. As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again0

I am a huge Mulberry fan but refuse to pay the full price. I know you said you couldnt wait until after xmas, but if you go into Fenwicks, (there is one at Brent Cross, although I always go to the one at Leicester) they take up to 50% off the bags, and on boxing day they a do a special one day only sale where they take another 20% off everything in store.
Last year I managed to get a £800 bag for £260!!
If you need it sooner, they normally do a few '20% off everything in store' nights throughout November on the lead up to xmas, you could pick one up then!
Make sure you ring up in advance and check they do the special discount nights, as I am not sure if this is just a thing they do at Leicester Fenwicks.
I hope you find something!0
