Just had a letter and my capped gas and electric are due to end in may
The new prices are
Electricity
First 225kwh used each quarter 15.1333p
All/Day remaining kwh 8.997p
Gas
First 1143kwh used each quarter 3.415p
All/Day remaining kwh 2.694p
Now I am off to do some research, but find these pricing structures so confusing. I wish it was just one figure, as I have no idea how much we use.
Hope someone can help

best thing is to visit both https://www.moneysupermarket.com and https://www.uswitch.com , input your gas usages or amounts paid over last 12 months together with name of current plan and see what comparisons both comparison sites come up with, moneysupermarket is currently offering 30.00 cashback if both fuels are switched through thembe aware that npower quoted prices only tend to be realised if u stay with npower for 12 months

Sorry to be dull but I still can't work it out. They all seem to charge different amounts for different usages.
I spoke to Sainsburys energy and they say we have used 4400 - elec
333 - gas.
When I put that into these sites the gas came out at around £6.50 for the year!!!
Really want to save some cash on it, but it makes it so confusing to switch. I could listen to the doorstep salesmen, but they always tell us that they are the cheapest, no matter which company they are from.
We were paying on the capped rate £42.50 a month with the prices at
Electricity
First 225kwh used each quarter 14.055p
All/Day remaining kwh 6.650p
Gas
First 1143kwh used each quarter 2.774p
All/Day remaining kwh 1.678p0 -
3.4 and 2.6 for gas is expensive especially if you are a high user does this include VAT, looks to me a bit like a Scot Power NSC rate which on average is only behind EDF for costs. Elec price is better than gas but still not cheap i would find someone else or ask if they have a better tariff if it is Scot Power try their volume 30

Just had the real useage figures after speaking to someone else, and have switched to British Gas, as they came in cheapest
Many thanks for your help0 -
sideshow your gas was probably units what they would have told you is the kWh which should be either 3800kWh or 10400kWh depending on whether you are imperial or metric0

My views and comments do not reflect British Gas and they are totally unreasponsable for my responses.0
