British Gas Are A Joke

Just been on the phone to british gas, after receiving two statements saying I was in credit on a pre-payment meter and being told twice over the phone, once that I would be sent a cheque. Finally get told today that the operators that I spoke to were wrong and im not in credit, also that the statements that were sent are that way because of their systems.

Been told that there is no way that they will honour what they have said, although the people that told me will probably get sacked/disciplined for gross misconduct.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem with the non customer caring behemoth that is british gas.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but it's highly doubtful they will get sacked I'm afraid. If there is a trace of who dealt with you on the system, their manager may be notified and they will get feedback.

With regards to prepayment meters, there is very little profit in supplying them so BG don't really invest much in the infrastructure or customer service for prepayment meters. Apparently they are going to be making some improvements soon, but what and how much they'll be spending remains to be seen.
