British Gas trying to mug me off constantly.....HELP!!

This is a long one.
Me and my girlfriend moved into our house last March and arranged to have key meters put in for the gas and electric but British Gas messed up the dates, we was told that the gas and electric we used during the time we moved in till the time when the meters got installed (about 7 days) would be wiped. 3 months later we got a bill through the post saying we owe £33ish so we rung them and told them that it should be wiped and told them the situtation, but they called us liers. We ended up paying this via our meters and thought this was the end of it. About 4 months pass and we get another bill through the post for about £300. I phoned them and told them the situation and with abit of hassle they wiped the mistake. Then 2 months ago I topped up my gas and it automatically took £7 off so I rang them and with more hassle they said that a bad signal was sent to a few meters which added debt which wasn't correct, so they wiped it. Then about 3 weeks ago we get ANOTHER phantom bill through the post for £269.47, I am now in the process of sorting this out but its taken 3 weeks now. I phoned them up and they said they will investigate and call back, they did call back but to say the person dealing with it is going on holiday and won't be back for another week. I don't want to be paying a bill which I don't owe. Plus every now and when I ring them they say they can't speak to them as i'm not on the account as it's in my girlfriends name, she has put me on the account about 5 times now and its starting to [EMAIL="P#@s"]P#@s[/EMAIL] me off. I have sent about 2 complaints to them and heard nothing back.
I've contacted citizens advice but thought I'd see if I could get help on here also.
