Child benefit Query

I have never claimed child benefit for my 2.5 yr old (though have been for my 3.5 yr old) - I recently submitted the child benefit form and have I will be recieving child benefit from last december (backdated three months). My claim was acknowledged on the 12th March so obviously didnt get my benefit in March as it was a couple fo days before. Aprils has also just been for one child(I think- has it been increased to £70?) . When and how do I get my back payment? Should I assume it will come with mays payment or will I get a cheque?

Y didnt you claim as soon as he was born? i got mine payed into the back so that month i got 4 weeks back dated and an extra 2 weeks as they work it 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after.

he was born 4/1/07 and got all mine in the feb.

Never got round to applying when she was born so missed out - they only back date 3 months so three months is all I was ever expecting anyway
