Hi, I am looking for a decent video camera to catch all the special moments of our new baby.
I am not looking for something that will cost too much though it needs to be decent quality light weight and not too big.
I have never used one before neither has my wife so it needs to be something simple and easy to transfer videos to the computer.
Hope someone knows something about these more than i do.
Thanks for your help in advance.

If you don't want to use your phone then why not use a compact camera.
My Panasonic TZ18 shoots nice videos. You can edit the footage with Window Moviemaker.
You then have a versatile device that takes stills as well as movies. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Go to any branch of Jessops, you will find various cameras for £200-300, all easy to use, all suitable for amateur/home use, all record to memory cards so you just import straight to your PC. Ask them for something halfway decent avoiding gimmicks, and get them to demo it to you, then have a play. Frankly anything at that price point will be much of a muchness, and absolutely slam-dunk anything you could have bought for 5 x that price 5 years back.0
