Ebay Seller - Upped Our Order After I Complained!

This is a positive experience on Ebay!

I've used Ebay for many years, ordering hundreds of items.

I needed a replacement frame and mattress for my son (he has special needs and is without a bed due to an infestation problem). These things always happen when u can least afford it lol, so I was anxious to get him a silentnight Tokyo Mattress that I ordered for myself (which has helped my back enormously) at the cheapest possible price. My son is a bit touchy about what bed he sleeps on and bedlinen and I know he loves my bed, so avoided a lot of problems this way.

I thought I'd found an Ebay seller who had the single mattress at the right price, with Express Delivery. It was the cheapest price for this mattress I could find. There was a circular thing on the post that said 'Free Delivery Within 4-7 days' although Ebay's estimated delivery was 14 days. I did note this but as the post also said express delivery and delivery within 4-7 days, thought it was the usual empty estimate on Ebay's part and ignored it.

Placed the order, received a phone call to arrange delivery.., for 5th November.., 11 working days later. Pointed out to person who phoned that this was hardly express delivery but knew if I cancelled the order, it would take just as long for a refund before I placed a new order (had paid via paypal).

I wrote explaining this to the company. Was very suprised to get a phone call from the managing director of the company offering to upgrade the mattress to one they had in stock, with delivery tomorrow, at no extra charge.

Wow! Just occasionally complaining does work lol. He also said they'd change the labelling on their Ebay site.

It sounds silly having to say it, but it is always worth complaining if there's a problem. Most sellers like to avoid problems and keep customers. If I ever get neutral or negative feedback it will often be from a customer who never let me know there was a problem, if they had they'd likely have been better off.
