A German company is launching a rival to the kindle for an amazing £10!
There's no connectors (battery only) and you have to have a mule tooth device like an iPhone to load books on to it.
But at ten quid the whole family can have one each.
Look out for it towards the end of this month.
It's called a TXTR. Google it for more info...

you need to register on the website, not sure if they will be selling to those who have registered in order, but reg has been open for quite a while. Looks potentially an interesting bit of kit.0 -
Mule tooth? I'm confused...0

The problem is, its a subsidised £10 by the Telco networks, you can't just fork over 10 quid, you need a smartphone with a subscription. and I pretty much lost interest after that.0

It will only hold 5 books. If you have to keep them on your smartphone and play swapsies then you might as well read them on your smartphone. 5 inch screen for the txtr compared to 4.3 for my current phone - why bother? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Not sure where you got the .3 from? I have the new iphone 5 (http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html) and it has a 4" screen. That final inch does make a big difference in size when you think that the physical height of the iphone is less then 5".
Also, there is a £519 difference between the two devices? You don't NEED an iphone to transfer books - just a blue tooth device.0 -

You are therefore limited to using Android based phones/tablets or Apple iphone/ipad for transferring. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
