Car Insurance 18 year old Male

Hi Hope someone can help - With the forthcoming changes regarding gender balance of car insurance how likely is it that my 18 year old son will get cheaper car insurance if I wait until end of December? Currently insured with Aviva and due for renewal on 1st December. Current quote online £1336.

Havent been privy to any discussions but I imagine the previous comments that female drivers premiums will simply rise to almost the level of current male levels is probably true.... dont expect a massive drop.

That said, that is a very low price for an 18 year old irrespective of gender. I trust you arent fronting the policy?

Hi Thanks for your reply - no not fronting - my son will be the main driver with me and dad as named drivers. The car is a mini thirty with a 998 engine hence the low insurance. I think I could run quicker than it goes but they have to start somewhere

It will go fast enough to get a few tickets and have a nasty accident.

Dont forget to notify insurers if named drivers have claims/incidents or points etc.
