I have downloaded Skype and got a user name and then added it to the application and now I will delete Skype till they get back to me or maybe not.0

If they ask for it, they'll probably use it.
So if you deleted it, and are called to an interview using it (perhaps by using IM), you'll be shooting yourself in the foot.0 -

They're 30 mins up the road from you but other people the want to interview could be much further away. My organisation often uses phone, Skype and video-links to do interviews, especially first interviews and especially when the person is a long way away or abroad.0 -
Skype supports video as well as sound.... can be much easier to set up a skype video conference than try and find a date when everyone is in the office at the same time and there is a free meeting room etc (meeting rooms are rarer than hens teeth in most organisations)0

I've known video skype interviews before (but firms won't insist on it)0 -
