hi
my girlfriend has been unemployed for the last couple of months.
she has just recently been offered 2 new jobs.
one is working fro 9-1 (3 weekdays and sat & sun) this job pays about £7.35 an hour so we calculated this as roughly £600 per month.
The other one she has been offered is minimum wage and doing 4-7 in the evening every weekday. this would work out as £320 per month.
She is thinking of taking on both jobs in order to make more money.
However she lives alone and has an 8 year old daughter which would entitle her to working tax credits.
I think that by the time she pays the tax on her 2nd job it wouldnt be worthwhile for her to take the 2.
She disagrees however and thinks she would.
she would however need to arrange childcare as well if she took on both jobs.
Does anyone have any experience of a situation like this, or any advice which I can pass on??
thanks xx

For income tax this tax year she would pay:
Nothing on the first £5225 of earnings
10% tax on earnings between £5225 and £7455
22% tax on anything between £7455 up to £34,600Here I go again on my own....0
