Can anyone confirm that this would be the case or could I simply re-apply for the scheme with a new supplier.

This depends if you are a core group or broader group candidate for the Warm Home Discount scheme

If you are a core group candidate, notified by the DWP that you will receive the payment, ie in receipt of Guaranteed Pension Credit, then you should automatically receive this payment regardless of switching supplier. Which supplier pays it depends on who the supplier was in the middle of September, whoever the DWP notified.

a Broader group candidate, who has to apply for the scheme has no guarantees the payment will be made, if they change supplier. I think most suppliers schemes will be coming to an end pretty shortly for this winters payout

Would be more helpful if they gave it out in Nov / Dec rather than in spring once the cold winter has passed!!!

The months I struggle the most are Nov , Dec & Jan through Feb so it would have been so much more helpful to me if they sent it out in time to get me through the really cold months!!

British gas have been paying the Core customers first. That is anyone who was on their supply in this group on 21.7.2012. This is earlier than last years date. They should all be paid by December although I think the majority have aready recieved the WHD. the Broader group will be Jan to March.

Our household has someone in the core group (Pension Credit). We are on prepayment meter and received a voucher for £130 2 days ago. This is with EON.
