I hope this is in the right place if not please advise here I should post.
I would like to make vegetarian version of cola bottles, jelly bears etc. I have googled and have come up with nothing.
You can buy them in the shops but they are very expensive, albeit, very nice!
Do any of you make them and if so how?
Many thanks
Clare

Haribo do a funny mix which is veggie friendly, though texture is weird.
Dr Oetker sell vegetarian jelly crystals which I imagine you could use in place of gelatine and follow a normal recipe?0 -
Thanks Pawsies
Have tried the Haribo ones which we didn't like that much. The ones we do like are from Neals Yard but they so expensive.
Will give your idea re the jelly crystals a go

You can buy veggie jelly bears in holland and barratt and also the ones you get at Chritmas, i think they are called Jelly Fruits, they come in a white box they are veggie:) This site also looks amazing:)

The Goody Good Stuff sweets are really nice. Too nice share actually :rotfl: I agree the Haribo ones are a weird texture.
The Co-op and Tesco both do vegan jelly sweets. There are strawberry lances (sour but nice). I think that's the only ones the Co-op do, but Tesco do those, plus a couple of others - rainbow ones and I think their cola ones are vegan too.
I've bought the vegan cola bottles from the health food shop before now - I didn't see a price on the shelf, but didn't realise just how expensive they were - over £2 for a small bag  Never again.0 -
M&S do a vegetarian version of Percy Pigs
Not sure it would be too easy to make your own jelly sweets as they're very firmly set, but you could try.Life is mainly froth and bubble

They've got a funny texture too, a bit like the Haribos. Mind you my youngest DD has seen the Veggie Percy Pig money box in M&S and wants one! As she doesn't get pocket money I don't know what she's going to put in it.0 -
She could always post her Percy Pigs
I haven't tried the non-veggie version, so don't know how they compare; not knowing the difference, I quite liked them.
I do like their one green ear though.Life is mainly froth and bubble
