Tuesday 23rd Oct - What small DFW things will you be doing today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:money:

Morning  just a quickie from me before I dash off to work!

* checked banking & cc
* payday today so some shifting of funds
* work out cc and put money into savings acc until payment day - put reminder in diary!

  • Good morning everyone, and thanks to DNMS for starting us off today.

Busy day yesterday so didn't get chance to get on here, but I did bag the bargain of the week! A Laura Ashley wool/cashmere full length coat for £12 in the charity shop! It's almost new and fits beautifully. :j

    My list so far:
    • washing up done on Economy 7
    • breakfast from stores
    • checked banking
    • checked surveys - less than £1 to go now :D
    • made DH a packed lunch
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • emailed accountant chasing my tax rebate
    I will also:
    • keep heating off
    • pack 2 boxes of eggs for customers
    • spend the day in the sewing room preparing stuff to sell at Christmas Fair
    • lunch from stores
    • check for surveys throughout the day - the last few pence are always the hardest to get
    • dinner from stores off meal plan
    • bake millies cookies whilst oven is on
    • have an NSD

That should keep me out of mischief today. Have a good one folks,

  • Morning All :j

Hugs to those that need them, especially all you busy bees, I know how you feel. Hi to newbies :D

    My list today:
4 loads of washing to do, dry inside - 2 done - 2 to go
found an old graze box at the back of the drawer. How did I miss that before. Great snack ;)
Food delivery coming in middle of day - cheap delivery and used MOC. Decided battling way round supermarket and carrying stuff now I'm 35 weeks preg is not a good plan. Think it will be internet based until the new year apart from a few bits here and there
Pop to c0stco to get some stamps for OH work - he'll re-imburse and I'll look for their cheap salmon whilst I'm there.
    check banking
    read martins e-mail
see if I can make a start painting the spare room tonight
check mysky account and see if they have corrected the box I have - if so, will upgrade my account (via £co) may not seem very MSE - but cash back is £100 and we have been offered the additional monthly cost as a christmas gift :o Would reallly like to do with the cash back obviously rather than just upgrade for nothing
Oh - do some work - working from home.

Right - must go and get dressed before internet shopping arrives:eek: have a great day everyone :)

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for starting us off DNMS.
Well done on the coat bargain Stitchy! Who says you have to go without if you want to be MSE :j
Chin up Ziggy, hope it's nothing serious.

    Today I have/will:-
    • Food from stores
    • Made use of free water/milk at work
    • Dinner from meal plan this evening
    • Log calories using free app - haven't done this for at least a week now! Really need to get back into it...
    • Charged phone at work
    • Check online banking
    • Surveys
    • Declutter a bit & lots of flylady - managed to declutter some used ink cartridges last night & need to send (freepost) to therecyclingfactory for a bit of much needed cash!
    • Heating off
    • Daily clicks etc on Sw@gbucks
    • DIY manicure if I get time...
    • Popped into an independent local shop on my lunchbreak to see if they had an oven lamp for cheaper than I found online & what a result, just over £5 online including p&p & only £1.85 in the shop! :j
    • Look for mystery shopping opportunities now that I have been accepted :D
    • Hope I get a second interview for possible promotion at work... Still waiting to hear on this!
    • Make a start on application for job elsewhere, yay for plan B!
    • Make use of TKD membership
Don't suppose anyone has any ideas regarding what I asked last night?

I'm still not 100% sure if we need a new oven seal though...basically whenever we use it we always need to turn it up at least 1 gas mark higher than the recipe states else we will end up cooking it for at least double the time, but the seal looks fine to us. Any ideas? Sorry if this sounds dumb but I have never had to do this before!

Have a great, MSE day everyone x

Looking at the remaining payments on my extension and firming up amount I can save plus looking at direct debits set up to pay of 0% credit cards in time. Just love playing around with money, even a few pounds here and there. Can make such a difference.
