and surrounding cabinets.
What to use. Can't use that spray on oven cleaner as it might be too powerful.
Soap, detergents, sugar soap don't really do the job. Tried baking powder as well.
Clean the hood on a monthly basis and don't want to do it more often.
Hope this is the right forum.

Have you tried neat washing up liquid, it is a very good degreaser, then just wipe down with clean warm water, and a daily wipe down after use is better than letting anything build up and have to try to remove each month or more.

How greasy is it? neat washing up liquid cuts through most grease with a bit of elbow grease perhaps.
You need a none scratch cream cleaner maybe and once clean then wipe down after each use to avoid a build up.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
CIF has been suggested.
It's not really really heavy but sufficient that washing up liquid doesn't touch it and I can't use the spray on oven cleaner because the surface is too delicate for that. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -

When I say neat I mean a good heavy squirt and rub it hard, the wipe off and repeat if necessary, but you need to rub hard on those stubborn areas.
Cif, HOBBRITE or any none scratch cream will also work but you need to rinse off well or it will dry white and streaky.

Also can you get some steam/heat on it somehow to soften the grease first, either boiling a pan of water on the hob below or wear thick rubber gloves and apply cloth wrung out in very hot water first.0 -
Is it brushed/matte metal finish?
We've used a combination of stuff including Cillit Bang (degreaser, and the one with bleach). It works.0 -
