Classic Car Buying Advice (Morris Minor 1000)

  • Thanks guys. I appreciate the encouragement to join the MMOC forum. I have signed up and I plan to post there soon. I also appreciate the advice on costs. I have found a few cars that look in pretty good shape for a bit less than I expected to pay so it is looking good there and also in regards to maintenance costs.

I plan to use it as a daily driver. I understand some people think it is not safe, and I know this. We accept a level of risk in everything we do. Sometimes there are things we can do to minimise the risk (drive sensibly) and sometimes we just have to stop somewhere in order to keep the fun in life. I could get a modern car, but there would most probably be a safer model, or I could get the train everywhere.

A friend of a friend owns one so I am going to talk to them and drive their car a bit. Hopefully that will answer my last few questions.
