PPI claim

I am in the middle of going through two claims for miss sold ppi one on a mortgage one on a load that was front loaded ppi we have been with RBSfor over 17 years.
I have recieved a letter on both PPI claims within the last week standard letter saying they are looking into both claims, today I had a phone call from our local branch asking if they could go through our finances to see if they could offer loans at better rates and pay off credit cards and put into a loan said no we have no cards no other debt apart from a car loan with another bank, they were quite force full saying we can beat any current loan deal, asking for me to get settlement figures and she would call back tomorrow.
Has anyone had this happen before, felt like the sales person was trying to push a deal through perhaps if the PPI is successful they could reduce the loan instead of refund ??

Total coincidence. The sales person wouldnt know about the complaint going through.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). How fast, I only put my claim into rbs 10 days ago recieved a letter yesterday confirming investigation into loans, today I recieved a offer for £1963, seemed strange yesterday offering loans today offer of payment,
I did this claim on my own didn't use a claims company, no longer needed,
thanks for this forum saved me £700.
