Builder bankrupt - approaching receiver directly with offer price

Options
Hi

Builder went bankrupt and houses on a development are now in the hands of a receiver with a fixed charge. The estate agent has said that the receiver will not accept anything less than £120,000 however as the property is effectively only open to cash buyers (and gut instinct) tells me not to trust what the estate agent is saying. Estate agent may be telling the truth but gut instinct is telling me to go to the official receiver to check.

Has anyone gone above the head of the estate agent and contacted the official receiver directly to make an offer?

Many thanks

I did this many years ago as the estate agent had PX considered on the photo of the house we liked in the window BUT he said the owner ( a big building society ) would not take our house in PX because it was Too expensive.
Rang them direct and did the deal over the phone

Place your offer in writing and ask for a written response. Check you will have an NHBC guarantee and what happens with snagging.
