Peculiar issue with Coop bank deposit

Today I gave my mother £90 cash and a £50 cheque to deposit in my coop account. I wrote down the account details and these were all correct.
I checked my online statement and it is showing a deposit of £81.20. The account was in credit and the deposit is the latest item on the statement. I don't expect the £50 to have cleared yet but I'm wondering what has happened to the remaining £8.80?
I spoke to my mother and she said she has the receipt showing £90 cash and £50 cheque.
I'm not sure what is going on here, this is the first time someone other than myself has deposited cash in my account (mum had to fill in a paying in slip) could that be something to do with it? Normally cash deposits have appeared instantly in my account.
Has anyone else encountered this with the coop bank? Or any other bank? I just want to know if this is the norm (that perhaps it will take a day or two for the full amount to appear) before I go off half cocked at the bank. I've recently had a baby so I don't really want to waste time chasing this up if its not a problem.
Thanks in advance

Well boy is my face red! :rotfl:
Turns out the £81.20 was my backdated child benefit payment! I wasn't expecting to get it so soon as I'd only just got the documents back the other day and they hadn't written to confirm anything yet. Turns out mum missed the cut off for the instant deposit thingy.
Well thats a relief anyway. Sorry to have wasted your time lol. Though you were right coop have very good customer service!
Thanks....I'm going to go and crawl under a rock now..0 -
Well, you are £81.80 richer than you thought you were...."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
