NHS redundancy & maternity pay

Hi
I've tried googling to no avail & have read the NHS policies but can't find the answer I'm looking for.
I have 5 yrs continuous service with the NHS & it looks like I'll be made redundant at 31 march 12 - which I'll be very happy with
I am due to start mat leave in jan - baby due feb
I know I'll be entitled to smp & my boss said I would be entitled to occupational mat pay up until the point I am made redundant & would also get redundancy pay (5 months gross I believe for 5 yrs service?)
I can't find anywhere that states I will be entitled to my full occupational maternity pay or whether it is just up to the point of redundancy
The reason I ask is - I may as well start my mat leave earlier if I'm only paid it up until march.
Can anyone confirm either way?
Thanks

The best thing to do would be to ask your HR Department, because they'll be co-ordinating the redundancy payment, mat leave, termination forms etc.0

I think that this is correct:
"I would be entitled to occupational mat pay up until the point I am made redundant & would also get redundancy pay"
You are only entitled to occupational maternity pay while employed.
Having said that, you will also be entitled to notice and holiday pay accrued to the date of the dismissal. At the very least you should recieve occupational mat pay during the notice period. There is an arguement (based on a European case called Meerts) that a woman should be entitled to full pay during the notice period.I am an employment solicitor. However, my views should not be taken to be legal advice. It's difficult to give correct opinion based on the information given by posters.0
