    it does work but only if you get most of the existing off first plus it will start to remove the outside seal as well as it will go under the bottom of the enclosure & creat more problems as you then can't reseal the outside without getting rid of all the remover, get the sealant off of the inside then get some CT1 (clear or white) dry the outside as much as you can then use that, the trouble with mastic (sealant) is it will stick to everything but itself so you will find the bit you put on will start to peal off the existing
