Is there a cheap time to run the washer when on a prepay meter??

Hiya,
I am on a prepay meter for both gas and electricity.
Can anyone tell me if it is cheaper to run my washing machine, dishwasher etc. in the middle of the night than it is to run it at say 7pm in the evening??
How can I find out how much I'd save if this is the case?
Also, what are the cheap rate times?
I don't get any other benefits like dual fuel discount or direct debit discount because it is prepay, so just wondered if I could make savings elsewhereve
Thanks to anyone who can answer

Hiya, you will only get cheap electric if you have a economy 7 meter for night time use.
You could make savings if you use your washing machine at 30C for a general wash load.
Dish washer - I do not have one.
My Advice to cut your electric bill is to get into the habit of unplugging all you can.
Buy an OWL electric monitor and slow cooker.

My latest idea is to mark the kettle with pen, bold and clear ware the 2 mug mark is. It is working here! Family not boiling loads of water for just 1 mug.

Take care we are all trying to cut fuel use.

E7 hours are 7 hours between midnight and 8pm normally. If you are on an E7 tariff.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • You should still get a duel fuel discount on prepay!

BG credited my electricity meter by £15 recently & they will do it every year I stay with them for both my gas and electric

I unplug a lot but not all. I like to be sure.

With the plugs in, feel them. If they are warm to the touch it is costing!!!!
If it is plugged in and showing a light or clock, guess what, you pay...

I unplug the microwave here as leaving the clock on - you pay! we have a battery clock on the wall.

I have got into the habit of unplugging and switching off lights.
No heating most of the year = about March till end of October.
