When i initially seen it i looked at other cars same age and model, seem to b similar prices. They just source their cars very well. Will def take all you guys have said and think about it thanks, really appriate it :)

Anyone got any input on my original question?

Just found the car you're looking at, and yes, they are asking for a massive premium.

Heres one with 32K miles for almost £2,000 LESS.

I done a search 60 miles from my postcode and the exact same age were all 6k and over, always get the odd lower priced ones but obv a reason why. And that car looks like a NI plate? And its 57 plate. Still a lot cheaper tho yeah, but as i said majority are going for 6k and over for an 08 plate. Also this garage has added a years warranty, fully serviced and a years road tax. Which all gets added onto the price.

I don't mean to offend, but I'm begining to think you have your heart set on this car. People are telling you the truth.

You can get an 07 plate, witin 60 miles of that garage, admitidly with 50k on it (but this won't provide any expense over the one you are looking at....camblet will need doing, but so will the one you are looking at)....for HALF the price of he car you are looking at.

The warranty you get with the car from the seller will have so many exclusions, it won't be worth hardly anything (none of them are).

The tax is £200 a year. Hardly worth a £3,000 premium.

Fully serviced....in garage speak, this means an oil and filter change... IF that. That's all you get with any interim service and they won't be doing anything more. I have bought cars which have "just been serviced" from garages before with absolutely filthy air filters, and rusting oil filters. What they mean is, they have dipped the dipstick in the oil, topped it up and looked around the car.

The car you are looking at is up for a massive premium. It's very easy to find, being such low mileage!

Theres an 08 plate with 69k on it for under 4k. A 58 plate with 35k on it, from a franchised dealer for 1k less.

It's your money at the end of the day, and although ow mileage obviously has benefits, the type of low mileage you are looking at has nothing but drawbacks.

A good place to start for all cars is www.honestjohn.co.uk

He continues to update and change reviews as the car ages, including expected bills and stuff.

Brilliant site. And apologies, I just felt you were defending the price and the garage. Which is fine. Someone will buy it, simply because of it's low mileage and people think it's still new.

There is a market for premium priced, low miles cars, and if thats what you're looking then fine, but it wouldnt be MSE if we couldnt point out that you car buy similar for much less elsewhere. :money:

Had a renault scenic 06 plate 1.6 petrol,

    lot to tax and uneconomical

BUT that was the least of it.

Needed lots spending on the engine just after the 3 year warranty although after lots of fighting i did get renault to pay.

then the heater packed up, after ringing round lots of independants, I ended up going to renault main dealer as no one else would touch it....£350 to fix.

    Also had other problems electrical

Its the one and only renault I will ever have
