Hello,
Just wanted to share an idea with you all - I've known one of my friends for years so have run out of ideas about what to get her for Xmas! This year I was inspired by this blog post: http://ideasfromtheforest.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/advent-calender.html and decided to make 25 little gifts and number them to make an advent calendar!
I've bought some mini truffle boxes on eBay (got 25 for about £2.50) which I'll probably spray with gold paint or cover with Xmas paper.
So far ideas for fillings include:
If you wanted to do this cheaply you could make it with empty loo rolls like in the link above and maybe fill it with the sachets you get free in magazines as well as recipes, poems, photos etc.

- Mini toiletries from Boots (eg a face mask sachet, Soap and Glory minis)
- Some chocolate bits,
- A small scented candle
- A knitted robin (got one from this shop: http://thepigeonsnest.bigcartel.com/product/robin-red-breast)
- Xmas tree decorations
- Nicely printed recipes
- Photos of fun times.

That's a lovely idea!
napkin ring, wine charm? Trolley token? Mulled wine sachets? Are they large enough for a small packet of festive tissues? packet of flower seeds?0 -
there are tiny packets of nail art kits in primark for a pound, and lipglosses for a pound too.0

I saw one on TV that was--well, looked like it was!--made from a piece of card about foolscape size & bubblewrap :T Thinking about how to make my own, I figured the easiest way would be to:-
start with the bubblewrap, cut to size
piece of card, cut to the same size
24 sticky dots, in your choice of shape & colour, similar to the size of the bubble on the wrap
Probably my next step would be taping one edge of the bubblewrap & card together, with enough slack to let you lift the bubblewrap up & down to place your sticky dots in exactly the right spot, under a bubble.
When all 24 are done, number the sticky dots 1 - 24 like they do the shop bought ones. Decorate with glitter, bits cut out from wrapping paper, messages, don't forget hints--however you like--then stick down the bubblewrap around all four sides.
Waddiya think? Ideal for someone on a diet or lactose intolerant, & you could personalise them to the individual...highlight last posting dates, when Chrimbo editions of magazines go on sale, works do, must visit Uncle, cooking tips for getting stuff in & out of the freezer...possibilities are endless :rotfl:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I do beauty/jewellery advent calendars for my two grown up daughters. I use opaque paper bags (about 6" square) printed in Christmassy designs and seal them with numbered stickers (I print my own), then stack them in date order in an empty decorated cardboard box.0

This is a really good idea and one I think I might try! I think I'm going to include Christmas themed snacks and maybe one or two things to do in December like going to the cinema or a meal with just a nice card or message to represent it.0

I am planning to make for my mum with my two youngest children. I have got some silly Xmas earrings, nail wraps, nail file and a mini (25cl) bottle of wine to go in so far0
