Booking tickets at West Ham United

Today my OH tried to get thru to West Ham to book tickets for an away match. They can only be booked in person at the ticket office (not convenient as we are almost 150 miles away) or over the phone on a damn 0871 number. There is no indication on the web site or on the recorded message on the phone line as to what the call rates are. He eventually got thru and was number 20 in the queue 2hrs and a half hours later he was number 1 and was promptly disconnected. He redialed and got a recording saying the office was now closed
Whilst I can appreciate they must've been busy they obviously are aware of how many callers they have waiting and surely have a cut off period for dialing in as if you ever phone after something like 5pm you get the we are closed recording therefore are able to clear the callers who got thru before oficially closing. I am absolutely furious at the customer service which I think is sh**e and have e-mailed them to let me know. We now have an automated e-mail response saying that they cannot guarantee my comments will even be responded to. GREAT, thanks for that!! To top it all they will probably increase season ticket prices next season which they seem to do every year.
Anyway rant over, by questin is surely these 0871 lines are monitored and can be complained about does anyone have any idea who this would be?

i booked some tickets for my dad for the tottenham match tonight and they're website was brill, you could book online, over the phone, or at the box office. I booked online and it was easy as anything.
shame West Ham dont do the same.Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0 -
I have just phoned their switchboard who inform me that the phone system was faulty yesterday and the cost of the call was 25 pence per minitue i'm even more furious now, anyone any ideas who to direct my complaint at and again who regulates 0871 numbers.

That is dreadful I have to say! To charge 25p a minute to book tickets is scandalous as it is never a quick process. I am a Spurs member and you csan book tickets over the phone at a normal rate or on-line which is very easy indeed.0

Are you sure you were given the correct info?

Couldn't see any 0871 line charging at 25p per minute on this list (assuming you were dialling from a BT land line)Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
Thanks for that mark thats useful but the number is 0870 11 which is on your list as a national call, don't know what that charge is? Finally spoke to WHU customer svs who were useless and didn't even know at what rate they charge their customers to call them??!! One person said it was 25p per min and another said it is a local rate number, so I am none the wiser until I get a phone bill for about £50 for one call  !!!!!!!!!!!! Its our own fault for hanging on for so long but when your OH is football mad you do but you don't expect to be taken for a mug.Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0
