    Does this seem relevant?
Why are you having to see the officer?

I want to say it's one where they punch claimants in the face till they stop claiming benefit.

    More seriously.
The DWP in addition to taking reports (either through data matching which looks at bank accounts and such, or members of the public) on fraud, and possible overpayment also randomly sample a section of claimants to check their entitlement.

This is to assess uptakes of benefits - are you claiming all you can - as well as to verify you should really be claiming ESA.

This is seperate from the usual process, as it may investigate in more detail things not directly relevant to an ESA claim.
For example, might you be entitled to carers allowance as well?
