DWP mistaken CCJ preventing move

Anyone had any experience of getting a CCJ revoked or getting around having one with a landlord?
My lass & me have been putting in an application for a new rental property & have failed as a credit reference check has shown up that she has a CCJ against her issued by the DWP in 2011.
After much digging it seems this was for overpayment of housing benefit (she worked on a non-contract basis at the time so it was a right ball ache constantly having to claim/unclaim depending on the hours she picked up). Anyway she paid the debt off at the time pretty swiftly & never heard anything about it, & never received any notification a CCJ had been issued.
Anyway the landlord is now reluctant to let us move in (despite the fact we've never been a day late with rent ever in our current property), and after ringing around DWP trying to find out the craic it seems they admit they made a mistake & a CCJ shouldn't be issued & are going to write to her saying this which she will have to use to petition the courts or something.
Anyone had any experience of getting a CCJ overturned? This mistake looks like costing us being able to move to start this new job though unless we can find £5k to pay 6 months rent upfront.

Erroneous CCJs are not a housing issue they are a legal/ debt issue - have you run an advanced search on the Debt Free Wannabe board? Have you contacted the court to find out what the procedure is? Write to the DWP giving as much detail as you can, the name of the person you spoke to and the date, your understanding of what they said, ask for an urgent letter confirming this was an error and what they will do to rectify it.
Why can't you move to a different property? A bedsit in an HMO or a bed and breakfast if needs be.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Well if we had to or end up on the streets then we would, but we're a professional couple who live in a 2 bed house & we're moving to a different city to start work & had a 3 bed house that we could easily afford lined up until this CCJ showed up on the application. We have furniture & pets and the thought of having to move to some crummy B&B or bedsit when we've never missed a days rent or bill in our life (& have excellent references from our current landlord) seems particularly unfair & a housing issue to me.0

The only questions you asked were about overturning the CCJ which is a legal or debt issue, the answer would have been the same if it had been stopping you getting a credit card. What questions do you have that are directly relate to housing and we will try to help? You already know about, and have discounted, paying six months rent up front.
You might not want to move to smaller properties, that was suggested because you
1. posted on a housing board
2. intimated you would not be able to start the new job.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Housing benefit is paid by your local council and not the DWP, so the DWP would not be taking out a CCJ for a housing benefit overpayment
