I agree with Halibut, would you have a COA to go with the signature?

Almost a must. Signatures are forged a lot and have been for many many years

You can check on Amazon if there are any signed copies of the same book listed there. Also check on Ebay if any have sold recently.

As we don't know the author/book we can only speculate but value can go down as well as up.

A book that has recently been signed and published may raise more money now than in a few years as demand for the book itself may be higher. Popularity of the author/book does not necessarily mean the value of the book would be high, quite often the reverse. A signed copy of a book by an author few people have heard of could often be more valuable as there are less of them in a niche market.

  • A signed Harry Potter first addition in pristine condition, for example, is not valued very highly.

Its the first editions of the first one which is worth the £££.

Books don't seem to sell that well on ebay, you wanna go for somewhere which will target your audience - auction house, maybe even amazon.
The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!

Contact the author they may want the book. Well J.R. Hartley did. :)

Look at the trouble he had to get a copy of his own book.

    :)
