Help Needed with possible PPI claim

Please could anybody offer me any advice. My husband took out a car loan back in 2000 with Lombard when he bought a new Landrover Discovery. He was self employed at the time. How would I find out if PPI was included in the payments as I no longer have any paperwork. I cannot recall them asking them if we wanted any payment protection but would it have been added automatically. I know that a couple of years into the loan I tried to pay it off as I could get a much cheaper loan but was told that the interest for the entire loan had been added on day 1 so it wasn't cost effective. Is it too late to see if I was missold PPI?
Thank you for any help.

    Hi and welcome

You could just at first take the chance call into your local landrover by asking if they still hold details of your husband.

If they say yes, then they may come across the policy details.

So is this account now settled?
If so when (year) as they may "possibly" still hold details if it was still active in the last 6 years.

In regards of the policy/account number, you can check old bank statements, where you repaid the repayments, as details of the lender/account number should be enclosed on them.

With the reasons you have, it may be worth a shot.

    Good luck.
