Quality of Ikea chairs / any chairs under £60?

Anyone got any experience with Ikea (not wooden) chairs?
Specifically, we are looking at http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20115038/
Alternatively
can anyone recommend another company for non-wooden chairs under £60 each, but decent quality?
Please don;t say Argos/Homebase etc.

I have always found the Ikea furniture very good for the money. You wouldn't have it in the drawing room but for everyday use and value you will struggle to beat it.0

we have these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80067789/
and they are rock solid and haven't aged a day. they are only one piece though compared to the ones you are looking at, where the joins would be the concern- have you been in and sat on them as the demo ones do take a hammering so should give a good indication.0 -
Quality?, Ikea chairs?
Go wash your mouth out;)
You go Ikea and you go base level, that's where they are at and that's what you will get.
You want quality as in good quality?? then go elsewhere.
If you want a race to the bottom, then Ikea got there 1st, sorry.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

It's clear you don't rate Ikea but it's sadly not clear who you recommend.
Saying 'go elsewhere' is hardly helpful.0 -
Hard to beat the quality at Ikea for the price, I've got bits that have lasted years with barely a scratch and few signs of wear - but yeah, I'd steer clear of Argos.0

We've got those exact chairs - had them two years with no issues, I'd say they are excellent quality.0

I had folding chairs from IKEA for about £7 each. Lasted 8 years, 3 of which they were outside, gave them a spray over with paint, will most likely get another 8 out of them.
If I spot proper antique dining chairs in the meantime for a few pounds, the IKEA ones will become garden chairs. If not, who cares?
They're cheap and do the job.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Anything we have bought out of Ikea has proved to be good value for money and withstood the test of time and kiddies. There customer service is great if they dont meet your expectations.
Of course they are not a classic piece of furniture to hand through the generations but who wants that nowadays.0 -
IKEA can be very good for basic things.
However, you could also look at -
John Lewis ("Marilyn" plastic chair £49 each, good reviews)
M&S ("Toronto" maple veneer chair, two for £59, also good reviews)
Homebase (Habitat "Macadam" folding chair £10 each, powder coated steel) and (Colour Match folding chair £14.99).0 -

No. I saw some lovely chairs at a friends' house, and asked where they got them. It was Ikea. They have oak plywood frames and fabric covers:

Stylish shops will charge a lot more for essentially the same thing. I saw some lovely lights with hand blown glass shades, but sadly they did not fit my porch ceiling as they interfered with the doors. They have all sorts of stuff, from basic but good value, to surprisingly nice, and good value.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
